What is it all about...

...and how you can participate

As the Wintercompetition 2017 and 2018 have been a great success it will take place in Bremen again next year, hosted by "Crest of Gordon - City of Bremen Pipes & Drums". We hope that we can establish an international stage again to kick off a new competition season. Bigger, nicer and even more Pipes & Drums. Be there or be square!

When and where is it going to happen?

The B.A.G. Wintercompetition 2019 will take place from January 19th to 20th at the following location:

Altes Gymnasium Bremen, Kleine Helle 7-8, 28195 Bremen, Germany

Who is able to participate?

Every piper, drummer and drum major can participate. However, there are some important piping rules and drumming rules published by the B.A.G..

Which competitions are taking place?

For the very first time in Germany the B.A.G Winter Competition in Bremen will be offering a practice chanter competition for pipers who have just started and are unable to play the pipes at the level required for the usual beginner level piping competition.
Furthermore, the B.A.G. Winter Competition will also offer solo competitions for drummers – snare, tenor and bass drumming - and for drum majors.
The Saturday will be rounded off with quintet competition in Grade 4 marches, open medley and open MSR.

Who are the judges?

We are happy to welcome the following judges at the Wintercompetition.

Rory Grossart

Rory played with the Strathclyde Police and Scottish Power Pipe Band and this year won the World Pipe Band Championships with the Inveraray and District Pipe Band. He also produces reeds for McCallum!. We are delighted to have him back again for the next event!
